Covid-19: Here's Brand-New Breakdown Of Cases In Sullivan, Ulster Counties

There are now nearly 1,800 active COVID-19 cases in Ulster and Sullivan counties as the numbers continue to spike to record highs.

In Ulster County, the state Department of Health was reporting that there were 74 newly confirmed cases in its latest data, with 29 in Sullivan County in the past 24 hours as the second wave of the virus sweeps through the Hudson Valley.

There are now 1,659 active COVID-19 cases in Ulster on Friday, Dec. 11, up from 1,476 on Tuesday, Dec. 8, with 133 in Sullivan, up from 123.

A total of 168,017 COVID-19 tests have been administered in Ulster since March, resulting in a total of 4,300 positive cases. Health officials in Sullivan have seen 2,269 confirmed cases out of 53,228 tests.

There were three new COVID-19 deaths in Ulster, bringing the death toll to 110. After seeing no new virus-related deaths in Sullivan County, there was a second death reported this week, bringing the death toll to 53.

  • Lloyd: 192 (398);
  • New Paltz: 176 (321);
  • Saugerties: 140 (296);
  • Ulster: 132 (434);
  • Shawangunk: 108 (274);
  • Plattekill: 106 (318);
  • Marlborough: 98 (291);
  • Esopus: 59 (158);
  • Wawarsing: 48 (232);
  • Gardiner: 42 (96);
  • Hurley: 28 (101);
  • Woodstock: 25 (68);
  • Marbletown: 23 (58);
  • Rochester: 18 (74);
  • Olive: 15 (39);
  • Shandaken: 12 (26);
  • Rosendale: 11 (67);
  • Denning: 4 (6);
  • Town of Kingston: 0 (2).

There have been no reported cases in Hardenburg.

Specific data about Sullivan County municipalities was not available on Dec. 11.

Statewide, there have been a total of 21.3 million COVID-19 tests administered, with 743,242 New Yorkers testing positive for the virus. Since March, there have been a total of 27,498 COVID-19-related deaths.
